The Black Widow

Give me a taste of it… it’s seasoned, savory and yet mostly sweet.
I have wanted it a long time…
that longing from within …
An echo beyond the loins…
Empty.

Don’t make me take because I will…
My flair for warfare taunted into action
I instead was hopeful for oppression
Alas my kind can only conquer,
We weave webs of deceit and self gratification
There needn’t be smoke and mirrors
Why must you make me?

Be myself, true to my inner core, animal instincts, bare…bare minimums …down to earth that then turns to nothing.
I weave around you translucent threads of pleasure as you endure.
Longer than you thought you could.
That which they have called monogamous.
I the widowed queen and you my willing subject of amusement in a hellish moment best spent under covers.
You my dear are fortunate to be alive, heavy panting, these your only breaths.
You are tattered and yet…you remain close.
Not as an enemy but as a host to wild ramblings and imaginations
Self imprisoned in a well padded snare you well knew was there.
To be fair I brought us here.
Without a care I warned I would take what ought to have been mine.
Normality restored as you my subject and I your queen.

This Thing

Sadness, we don’t always scrutinize its history its root cause. I’m not a shrink so I am not about to provide Latin definitions of depression, sadness and general lowness.
What I do know is there’s this thing that makes me sad…this thing ...sucks the joy out of me...hell I can’t even mention it because well it jeopardises one of my most favourite things in the world.

When this thing is done with me I feel...worthless, unappreciated and enslaved. I feel a level of fury cannot contain.
A speck of dust a wrongly constructed sentence could send sparks flying. This thing... is Diablo inspired...rooted in evil...covered in the blood of others just as me who are stuck in a thorny place of passion and poverty.
Love and contaminated efforts flushed down with semantics and sanitizer.
This place may be destiny fulfilled...it may be a truck stop of severely stale food in a shitty service station.

Fuck!

It might even be my penance for passion over the realities of life.
Everything about it is worn and torn out by pigs who’d sooner eat their own flesh than save another. This thing is life as I know it... my moulded, rat nibbled, super skinny slice of daily bread.
There’s this thing that makes me sad.

Stand

What is it about me you adore?

Is it too significant to ignore?

I don’t carry myself lightly,

Even if people and surrounding things try smite me into oblivion,

Yet still I carry on.

Tormented loneliness in my soul,

No, that’s not a window in my eye it’s a gaping hole.

Once I lost control,

All for love,

Its loss and echoing emptiness,

I ‘AM’ OUT OF CONTROL!

My emotions are on a roll,

Doing the pantsula, kicking dust in the air,

I breathe in contempt, NO! I am NOT content,

With the best of it,

I guess it’s the rest of me I should be worried about.

Once again I’m out and about, wondering,

Where is she?

Where is the one and only,

Whose body is as holy as a temple?

Let’s get rid of this phony,

‘Cause right now I can’t tell…

Is she here with me?

Buried deep under a lot more of me?

I think I met her once her name was Stephanie.

We’d skip gleefully through the dark corridors of life,

Hand in hand,

‘Thicker’ than thieves.

I told her “you have my heart” and she cut off her sleeves.

Dammit! Have you seen  her?

‘Cause it’ll be like bringing in the sheaves when we are finally together.

When she comes around,

If…

I’m still hopeful,

Shit! I’m living on a prayer so…

When she comes around,

Crown her…

If your wallet is under

Do it on a budget

Bow down but don’t lie…

Just let her, even for a minute …Stand

Just…let her do it,

For this moment…

 Let her Stand.

Poke YOUR Nose into this: The Rotaract Club of Harare West get dirty as they lend a hand in Domboshava!

Not many people have the foggiest of ideas of what Rotaract is or what it’s about or if anyone in it is bone-able. Being a recently inducted Rotaractor and lover of all things interactive I have been asked to explain it numerous times but after this past weekend I can safely say, you need to be in it to get it. That is get knee deep into the selfless action oriented bit (the part that matters) get to have a jam and socialize (the part that also matters *wink*), network and be schooled in thoughts that never crossed your mental server (the reward that comes with the knee deep stuff) and much more I’m probably yet to experience! In simple words its helping other people take care of themselves, its feeding the hungry with a loaf of bread, its teaching them to farm the darn wheat (wheat not weed PEOPLE!), its keeping strangers warm during these cold winter nights; its turning a ‘shamble’ into a walled and floored Home.
That’s precisely what we ‘Wild Wild Westerners’ got up to on an almost early Saturday morning. I say almost because like most things in life we met a few of life’s *EHEM!*, obstacles; road blocks, ‘almost’ flat tyres, not-so-morning-people, possible overloading and transport woes to mention a few!
But with the resilience of 5year olds on a scavenger hunt we pulled through and made it out to the outskirts deep in Domboshava, so deep we made the rest of the trek on foot to a tattered place called home to Baba naMai Passmore; the couple we have been assisting for a little close to a while.

This couple has six children (yes you read right), two girls; Chiedza (1 ½ yrs), the adorable Maude (5yrs) and four boys; Passmore (roughly 16yrs), Goodmore (12yrs), Titus (9yrs) and the both mischievous and timid Joshua (7yrs). Of the bunch only Titus and Goodmore are attending school while Joshua is yet to step into a classroom due to funding. Maude is due for Pre School as well but unfortunately the chorus of funding is certainly sung in the highest note under these circumstances. Stationery, school uniforms, day to day nutritional requirements, a secure roof over their heads, a cement and not dirt floor as well as actual windows lengthen the list of what, not only the family needs BUT what these children deserve as a human right to ‘be’.

The Rotaract Club of Harare West have and continue to do what they can to fill in the blanks where resources can; a blanket here, a pair of previously love clothes here and there, etc

That’s where YOU come in… YOU’RE the missing link… no effort is too small… no donation is irrelevant in cash, kind, time or expertise. At the risk of sounding like a chain message here; take a moment (no, seriously just a minute!), and think of what you have to offer to this family or to the Harare West Rotaractors Club as a member….*moment of silence for your thoughts*

Now Grab this guy's contacts and get involved;

Rush

In this life.. I’ve gone through things…
Some grotesque some surreal …
Like an endless movie reel
Life is persistent
Rolling credits even when they aren’t due.

It’s just like me and you …
You brought out feelings I couldn’t subdue..
Feelings got sticky and messy like misused glue turned into goo
Those are my legs turning into jelly
Just brush past me one last …time
I promise my palms won’t get too sweaty
I’ll seize to be petty about how I am like putty in your hands
 About the ‘who’s- who’s’ and us… if it’s there
 Let ‘us’ rush

Time waits for no man or woman so I feel even less empowered
Just rush
Let our emotions crash as we ride on that hot wave
Stirred deeper than lust…

We know each other
But we’re out of time …
That is why we must rush..
Do not tarry any longer
We must have each other ravenously…just rush..
Rush towards us
Rush for me.

Restless...

I’m panicking, here I am back here again pouring emotions out…I’m soaking wet tears and snot all over the place. I should be over you right? I should have forgotten…but a woman’s heart is as old as time and as absorbent as a sponge there’s no way I’ll forget you now.
What did you do that for? Why in the hell are so amazing and awful at the same damn time. They say men can’t multi-task but you’ve caught up pretty fast.

Different yous in different shades of brown skin when your shirt is off lying in my bed. Damn I love you. You love me so why the hurry why can’t we just be ...elope and ride off into the sunset.
Why won’t you just stay with me?
 I love you...
I F***ing Love you!
I know you love me don’t you...when we are done making love you get up and leave but that’s only because..because you are so busy and there are places you have to be.
We don’t talk much but I can’t complain our bodies say what they need to...when we are naked

I said I would be there, that I would take you ‘in’ no matter what I was a ride or die...at this rate you would ride me till I died indeed...
When will you say you love me?

I said I would wait for you I’m patient but even this is taking too long ...maybe you didn’t hear me when I said...I love you
